About PNG files
PNG is a lossless image format with support for transparency. It is the usual format for screenshots, logos and graphics with sharp edges.
Open Online shows PNGs on a checkerboard so you can see transparent areas, with zoom down to individual pixels.
What you can do here
- Zoom with the mouse wheel or buttons, drag to pan
- Switch between fit to screen and actual pixels
- Transparent areas shown on a checkerboard
- Rotate or flip, and save the result as a new file
- Read camera data (EXIF): camera, lens, exposure, date and GPS position
Limitations
- Saving a rotated or flipped copy re-encodes the image and drops its EXIF data.

Common questions
Are animated PNGs supported?
Yes, APNG animations play like GIFs in modern browsers.
How do I see individual pixels?
Choose actual size and zoom in. Images are drawn without smoothing at high zoom levels.
