About SQLite files
SQLite is a complete database in a single file. Apps on phones and desktops use it for local data, from browser history to messaging apps.
Open Online loads the database with SQLite compiled to WebAssembly. You can browse tables and run your own queries.
What you can do here
- List tables and views with row counts
- Browse table contents page by page
- Read each table’s schema
- Run your own SQL queries
Limitations
- Changes made with SQL stay in memory and are not written back to the file.
- The whole database is loaded into memory, so very large files may not open.
Privacy
The file is read by your browser and stays on your device. Open Online has no server that could receive it, and nothing is stored once you close the tab. Privacy policy
Common questions
Are my changes saved?
No. Queries run on an in-memory copy, so the file on your device stays untouched.
Why does a large database not open?
The whole file has to be loaded into memory. Databases larger than about 1 GB may fail depending on your device.
