About ICS files

ICS (iCalendar) files carry calendar events, to-dos and invitations. They arrive as attachments to meeting invites and are exported by most calendar apps.

Open Online shows the file as text, so you can read the event details, times and attendees before you import it.

What you can do here

  • Search and replace
  • Toggle word wrap

Limitations

  • Very large files (over 50 MB) open read-only to keep the browser responsive.

Privacy

The file is read by your browser and stays on your device. Open Online has no server that could receive it, and nothing is stored once you close the tab. Privacy policy

Common questions

Why are times written like 20260401T100000Z?

iCalendar uses a compact date format: year, month, day, a T, then hour, minute and second. A trailing Z means UTC.

Does this add anything to my calendar?

No. The file is only displayed; nothing is sent to or added to any calendar app.
